The GEMINI is the worlds first and only open PET/CT. This open design improves patient comfort by reducing the claustophobic effect associated with a long tunnel. Enhanced oncology workflow, encompassing diagnosis and radiation therapy planning is aided by Syntegra. This multi-modality image registration and review software features automated registration of multi-modality image data, and diagnostic image review of PET as well as CT, MR and SPECT image data in a single environment. The GEMINI establishes a new standard in image quality through the combination of Philips PET and Brilliance CT technology. Our multi-slice CT component is based on proven Philips technology with its high-efficiency detector and true sub-millimeter isotropic imaging. The revolutionary GSO PIXELAR detector design and matched geometry of 3D acquisition and 3D reconstruction work together to provide excellent image quality with less dose and shorter imaging times. The GEMINI offers the flexibility required by clinical and research institutions. The ability of the GEMINI gantry to separate allows the system to function as two independent imaging scanners or combined as one integrated PET/CT imaging system. Radiation treatment planning accessories including a flat table top and laser positioning systems are available with the GEMINI.
The GEMINI imaging table system features the ability to scan a contiguous 190cm, which is essential for evaluating patients with melanoma. The table design includes a mid-gantry catcher which supports the imaging pallet through its entire scan length, thereby minimizing table deflection.
